Bhutan Cross Stitch Pattern: Tiny Flag Map

Bhutan cross stitch pattern, the country's wide shape split on the diagonal: saffron yellow above, orange-red below, with the white band running between them where the dragon sits on the flag. The country name is stitched into the red at the eastern end.

Bhutan measures what it calls Gross National Happiness alongside the usual economic figures, and charges most visitors a daily fee to keep tourist numbers low. The saffron and orange on the flag stand for civil and religious authority, which sit closer together here than in most countries.
