Guinea Conakry Cross Stitch Pattern: Tiny Flag Map

Guinea cross stitch pattern, known as Guinea-Conakry to distinguish it from its neighbours, with the red, yellow and green of the flag running as three vertical bands across a country wider than it is tall. The name is stitched into the yellow.

Four shades and just under seven hundred stitches, worked in three solid blocks with no confetti. The outlining carries the shape, including the deep notch in the southern coast. Part of the Tiny Little Countries series.

Guinea was the only French colony in Africa to vote for immediate independence in 1958, and France withdrew almost overnight. The Fouta Djallon highlands in the middle of the country are the source of the Niger, the Gambia and the Senegal rivers.
