Lesotho Cross Stitch Pattern: Tiny Flag Map with Basotho Hat
Lesotho Cross Stitch Pattern: Tiny Flag Map with Basotho Hat
$4.60

Lesotho cross stitch pattern, a rough diamond of a country shape banded in blue, white and green, with the black mokorotlo, the Basotho conical hat, at the centre. The country name is stitched in white across the blue.

Four shades and just over eleven hundred stitches, worked in three broad bands, so most of it is straightforward filling with the hat as the one detailed element. Part of the Tiny Little Countries series.

Perfect For

  • Countries still on your wish list, stitched while you plan the trip
  • Basotho heritage and families far from home
  • Anyone who drove the Sani Pass or rode the Maloti highlands
  • Aid and mission workers who spent time in the mountains
  • Collectors working through the Tiny Little Countries series

Lesotho is the only country in the world entirely above 1,400 metres, which is why it gets snow while South Africa around it does not. The hat on the flag is the mokorotlo, worn across the country and shaped after a mountain near Thaba Bosiu.
