The black band on the flag stands for the people, its gold edges for the mineral wealth beneath them, and the union it commemorates, Tanganyika and Zanzibar joining in 1964, gave the country its name. Kilimanjaro's summit is Africa's highest point, and the Serengeti migration below it is the
